Yep, this is the first entry. The previous default one doesn’t count and I won’t delete it. I registered for this blog on the 3rd of Feb’06, and I have finally decided upon what I am going to write here.
(A lil’ background info for new readers.. I had other blogs prior to this, but I only posted constantly on another blog site. Only close friends had access to that. As the years go by I am opening up more to people. The purpose of this new blog therefore is for new acquaintances to get to know me, and for the older ones who don’t know me that well too, to do so.)
- So here’s the gist of what I am currently busy with.
- Info Sys report which makes up 25% of the total mark. The final exam is worth(?) 75%
- Preparation for Finals which commences on May 11th(subject to change). The last paper should be around the 25th or 27th.
- Bible study. I have not ever read the bible through once. I need to learn about my faith. That said, I will create a tag called "Religion".
- With bible study comes spiritual growth I guess. I’ve realised I am weak and I can’t do anything without seeking God.
- Fitness. If you’ve known me for quite abit, you’ll know that I am constantly talking about fitness. Especially so I’ll talk about my vertical jump. In basketball speak we call vertical jump "Hops". So ‘He got mad hops!’, means that person can seriously jump. Likewise, in bball speak we call shoes "Kicks".
I am going to the gym at least once a week. I need to work on my base strength, or strength base. What this means is a substantial level of strength which is needed to prepare oneself for more strenuous activity. i.e to strengthen the muscles, ligaments and tendons till a level that they can sustain the impact generated during the activity. My favourite sport is basketball, and yes, I have been training to dunk since I was 14. ‘White men can’t jump’ you say? I’m yellow. HAH. :p
I have also been running about twice a week around my estate, but that regimen has stopped for about 3 weeks. All this physical training is also actually in preparation for the IPPT which I am hoping to take in August. With all that’s said. Look forward to a ‘Fitness’ tag.
- Music. The piano tuner just tuned my piano after eons(about 6-7 years I suppose) 2 days ago. It was a peaceful morning where I was still in slumber. I dreamt that my grandma was playing on the piano(she’s 89), then I dream that the piano tuner was tuning the piano. I woke up, lo and behold! The man was actually tuning my piano! I don’t know if that was a sign or anything… But that evening I started practicing RIB and the newer piece that I had been saving up.
Well, there are many pieces/works that I have been wanting to learn. I even ordered the scores online. But I haven’t got the time to sit down and practice. Strangely enough my new school schedule somehow is able to accomodate my revision and abit of piano practice. The new piece I had been saving up to learn(which meant that I had actually wanted to learn this last, I have like over 15 pieces I want to learn) is Schubert’s Wanderer Fantasy. I really am amazed at the improvement I am able to make over these two days. I might learn it concurrently with RIB.
