I will be taking my IPPT (hopefully) on the 14th of October. That’s like 2 weeks + more to it. As always I’m not too afraid of most of the test events, except for the 2.4K/run. That doesn’t mean I’m at a level I want yet for those events. I’m focusing on conditioning, endurance body-weight based exercises. Coupled in with runs around my neighbourhood every other day.
No fancy workouts/techniques now till after I take my IPPT. After which I’ll start visiting the gym to put on muscle mass and work on my strength base and power. High intensity stuff like plyometrics and sprints will probably come after I’m satisfied with the strength base. Then I’ll round it off with swimming for maintenance. I think by the time I finish my programme and get to the swimming phase it’ll probably be end december or january. Hopefully I can start playing basketball again after that.
