It’s 3.36am. Ok I know what you are thinking. Wait…!
Haha, for once I didn’t stay up TILL 3am. I slept at 10.30pm! Major accomplishment. I think the main reason was; I forced coerced convinced forced
myself to stay awake this afternoon. The shower helped, a bit. After which I went down to practice on the piano for like 1 hr + - 2hrs? It was a rusty effort and I think I was terrorizing most of the neighbourhood with it. I was doing Wanderer for the last piece and took ages at the first page. I got frustrated so I went upstairs and lay on my bed for probably 5 mins. Went down and continued and I did that first page quite effortlessly(without much expression though). I had some sort of peripheral vision while playing. Don’t know exactly what it was but it better enabled me to feel/know where the keys are without looking at them too much. Not that I have a habit of looking at the keys while playing. I’m just too rusty. Think I shall do Hanon next time first to improve my fingers’ muscle memory.
So I slept at 10.30pm, woke at 2.20am or so. Took my heart rate and it was like 51 BPM =) I slept early because I am trying to cultivate a habit of sleeping early. Reason being; I’m going to start working on my readings, revision etc today. So I’d better cut down totally on aimless wasting away in front of the PC.
I did not pass my IPPT the other day. 5-item tests were good(to me
), but I failed my 2.4k. I didn’t have a digital watch to pace myself. My 5th lap was at 10mins+(<i>there was an electronic timekeeping board overhead</i>) and I thought I could piah the remainding lap in 1 minute. Ha. Completed it in 12mins 33secs. 13 seconds to pass. This oh so reminds me of the time I took my IPPT before NS enlistment(to get an additional 2 months reduction). In 3 weeks(I took my IPPT thrice in 3 weeks), I went from a FAIL to a Silver grade. It was always the 2.4k that needed working on. I’ve never liked running long distance(it’s long to me). But over the past 2 months that I’ve been training I’ve grown to like running a bit. I’ve learnt not to run on slopes. It’s not that it’s more demanding. It just so happens that my running route used to be around my primary school(sloped, yes). And I’ve realised that it’s boring. So I’ve switched to running along Siglap Canal from Telok Kurau all the way to |St. Pat’s->VJC->Fitness corner after VJC| and back. I’d usually do 2 sets each of sit-ups and chin-ups at the Fitness corner before resuming.
And so… I hope the $19 Casio watch(with simple stopwatch feature! lol
) that my Dad got for me will help me pace myself better. I asked my Dad to get me a simple cheap watch. I lost my G-shock during Batam in June
Yes, during the habitat programme. I think James and I woke up late that morning so we had to rush off to the dining area to consume our breakfast in a rush. So mentally I wasn’t that alert and I must have misplaced the watch in the room or on the dining table. Ba.
It’s exactly 4am now. I will be taking my IPPT again this thursday. Else I’d have to go for RT(Remedial Training) coz my window(for taking IPPT) closes after my birthday. I don’t think anyone would have imagined me failing eh? I’m always talking about fitness blahblah. Ha. Probably coz I know my body too well that I leave things to last minute. It’s not healthy pushing oneself too hard too suddenly. Well… it’s a start.
Oh… nowadays blog must put picture right. Ok picture for your viewing pleasure.

"Try harder next time ……." indeed, I will. I wonder who was the person who came up with that
Sensitive information smudged out. And I wonder why there is such a big space between ‘Ming’En’ and ‘Gaius’. Like what? Kenna punished in primary/sec school. ‘Gaius! Go stand in the corner/outside the class’
Getting as disciplined as usual.
something I oughta learn!
