I was doing bible study with the aid of the Guided Bible Studies site –> http://www.guidedbiblestudies.com, when I came across a powerful statement in one of the studies. How powerful and true. Ah. 
"To achieve truth and stability in thought processes requires you to honestly face and evaluate each situation with the same criteria each time. The standard for judging things within your mind cannot change to fit a situation. For example, if you judge an action in others as wrong, but are able to justify that same action as being acceptable in your case, then a different standard of judgment is used.
If you do not have a true and stable thought process, Jesus cannot put wisdom into you. The requirements for wisdom are truth and stability, and you should strive for that even when you are admitting your weak and shameful sins to Christ."
